A check written 40 years mysteriously ended up in the back yard of a Floyd County residence.

According to WSB-TV, the check came from Fultondale, Alabama, the site of a deadly EF-3 tornado that occurred on January 25.

It is believed the storm carried the check over 100 miles where it landed in the yard of Felix White, who is the Cedartown Fire Chief.

The check was written in 1981 to a company that is no longer in business.
