7 FCS students advance to state semifinals in the Governor’s Honors Program

Floyd County Schools –

Seven sophomores and juniors from Floyd County high schools have advanced to the semifinals in the Governor’s Honors Program (GHP). The Governor’s Office of Student Achievement indicated that approximately 2,700 students were nominated to the state level GHP competition and nearly 1,200 of them have been selected as semifinalists for state interviews/auditions. All semifinalists’ interviews except Percussion, Piano, Visual Arts, and Theatre will be conducted virtually on February 27, 2021.

Percussion, Piano, Visual Arts, and Theatre will be held onsite at Berry College on March 6, 2021.  Additional information will be forthcoming in the next few days. Finalists and alternates will be notified March 26, 2021.
