ROME CITY SCHOOLS

Rome City Schools Pre-K program registration began on January 25th and runs through February 5th, Monday-Friday, from 8:30 am until 1:30 pm.

The Rome City School Pre-Kindergarten program is funded by the GA State Lottery and is governed by Bright from the Start and supplemented by the District.  The GA Lottery Pre-K is an age appropriate instructional program that prepares students for a successful transition to kindergarten and beyond. Additionally, this nurturing environment addresses students’ academic, social and emotional needs while preparing for kindergarten readiness. The goal is to insure that all students gain the needed foundational skills to propel them into a successful future.

GA Lottery Pre-K serves students who turn four years of age on or before September 1st of the school year in which the student begins Pre-K.

Rome City Schools Pre-K Registration

January 25, 2021 – February 5, 2021 8:30 am – 1:30 pm

The following Rome City Schools have Pre-K Programs available for student enrollment.

Anna K. Davie Elementary

Elm Street Elementary

Main Elementary

West Central Elementary

West End Elementary

Registration packets will available beginning on January 25th in the front office and require the following documents:

  1. Parent or Guardian Identification
  2. Student Birth Certificate *Student must be 4 years old on or prior to Sept. 1, 2021
  3. Student Social Security Card
  4. Immunization Record from your pediatrician or Health Department
  5. Eye, Ear, & Dental Record from your pediatrician or Health Department
  6. Proof of Residence(Utility bill:Ga. Power, Water, Gas, etc)
  7. If applicable, proof of the following services: CAPS, Food Stamps, SSI, Medicaid or TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families)

All registration packets received at each school by February 5, 2021 at 1:30 pm will be entered into the lottery process for each school if needed.

The Pre K lottery will operate on a tier system.

Tier 1: Applications for students living in the required attendance zone.

Tier 2: Applications for students living inside all attendance zones in the Rome City Schools.

Tier 3: Applications for students living outside of the Rome City Schools attendance zones.

Tier 1 applications are drawn first. If the initial drawing does not fill the roster of 22 students, Tier 2 applicants will be drawn to fill the remaining slots. If the roster still contains less than 22 students, Tier 3 applicants will be drawn to complete the roster.
