One person is dead following a pursuit that began on I-75 in Gordon County Wednesday night.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, a trooper attempted to stop a Toyota sedan for speeding at mile marker 315.

The driver failed to stop and the vehicle exited the at mile marker 312 before trying to get back onto the interstate.

The trooper performed a PIT maneuver to stop the vehicle before it could re-enter I-75.

The Toyota became disabled on the east side of the entrance ramp and the driver sustained fatal injuries.

Two juvenile passengers in the vehicle fled on foot but were later apprehended.

Neither was injured.

The investigation into the incident is continuing.
