(Via WBHF Radio) On Monday, the Georgia Supreme Court upheld a motion to suspend Georgia Court of Appeals Judge Christian Coomer temporarily.

On December 29th, the Judicial Qualifications Commission of Georgia filed a motion to suspend him. The move was on the ground that they received sufficient evidence to demonstrate that Coomer poses a substantial threat of serious harm to the administration of justice and public confidence in the judiciary. The commission alleges 26 violations of the Georgia Code of Judicial Conduct and an Amended Complaint filed against Judge Coomer by the Georgia Government Transparency and Campaign Finance Commission on November 23rd.

On December 30th, Coomer consented to his interim suspension but did not admit to any of the allegations.

The Supreme Court stated the Judicial Qualifications Commission has through January 8th to present evidence to support the suspension.

Coomer previously represented citizens in parts of Bartow and Floyd counties in the Georgia House of Representatives.
