Man accused of theft, fleeing from police

A 43-year old Rome man, accused of fleeing from a traffic stop back on December 19, was booked into the Floyd County Jail on multiple charges Tuesday.

According to jail records, Glenn Franklin Hamilton was driving a stolen vehicle during the traffic stop and subsequent pursuit.

Hamilton reportedly ran a stop sign and eluded police at speeds of around 95 miles per hour on Highway 27 South and Booger Hollow Road.

Then, on December 28, Hamilton fled on foot from authorities are they were trying to serve a criminal warrant for his arrest.

Hamilton was also charged with felony theft by taking for allegedly stealing a 6×12 utility trailer from a location on Huffaker Road back on November 28.
