99th Floyd County resident dies from COVID-19

GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH

6,154 Floyd County residents have now tested positive for COVID-19 since late February, according to the latest status report from the Georgia Department of Public Health.

That includes 47 new cases reported from Sunday to Monday.

Bartow County reported 53 new cases Monday, Gordon County had 19, Polk County saw 18 and Chattooga County had 10.

Floyd County also reported another death Monday, the 99th since the start of the pandemic.

Bartow, Gordon, Polk, and Chattooga also each reported one death in Monday’s report.

In Region C – which includes Floyd Medical Center, Redmond Regional Medical Center, Cartersville Medical Center and Polk Medical Center – 856 of the 900 or so general inpatient beds are in use.

That’s just over 95%.

142 Intensive Care Unit beds are in use, which is just over 82% capacity.
