A 22-year old Rome man was arrested at his Old Calhoun Road home Friday on a felony warrant charging him with aggravated assault.

According to the warrant, during a physical altercation, Anthony Dewayne Jarrell Jr. grabbed a woman by the throat and choked her.

Enough pressure was applied to leave bruising around the victim’s neck, according to the warrant.

Jarrell was also charged with criminal damage to property for allegedly causing approximately $5,000 in damage to the victim’s vehicle.

 

He was additionally charged with battery.
