STAFF REPORTS

The Floyd County Board of Elections voted Thursday to terminate Chief Elections Clerk Robert Brady.

The board first voted to reprimand Brady for repeated failure to meet performance objectives.

Then, because it was Brady’s second reprimand in six month, Brady was fired.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that close to 2,600 votes that had not been reported election night had been discovered during the hand recount of the presidential election.

Brady was also reprimanded in August for an exchange he had with a citizen during a board meeting.

The elections board did not comment further on the action during Thursday’s meeting.
