A Rome woman is accused of assaulting another woman with a hammer at a location on Flannery Street on August 5.

According to the arrest warrant, 47-year old Sherry Mullinax Overby struck the victim in the back of the head with the hammer.

Overby was arrested Friday at her apartment on Dodd Boulevard and charged with aggravated assault.
