Flood Warnings continue for Coosa River, Armuchee Creek

Flood Warnings continue until further notice for the Coosa River and Armuchee Creek.

At 7 AM Tuesday, the stage of the Coosa River at Plant Hammond was 571.9 feet and rising, nearly two feet above the flood stage.

At 572 feet, minor flooding continues in the woodlands, fields, and pastures along the river upstream and downstream from the gage behind Plant Hammond.

The water reaches a low lying portion of a parking lot near the intakes behind the plant.

The boat ramp near the intakes and a small portion of an access road near and under the Georgia Highway 100 Bridge will be under two feet of water.

At 6 AM Tuesday, the Coosa at Mayos Lock and Dam Park was 24.2 feet and rising.

The flood stage is 24 feet.

At 24 feet, minor flooding begins of the woodlands, fields, and pastures along the river upstream and downstream from the gage on the old Lock and Dam behind the Trading Post.

The boat ramp will be mostly underwater at the Lock and Dam Park.

At 8 AM Tuesday, the stage was 21.3 feet and falling.

Minor flooding is occurring.

The flood stage is 19 feet.

At 21 feet, minor flooding continues and expands further into the woodlands…fields and pastures along the creek upstream and downstream from the gage on Old Dalton Road.
