Man charged with impersonating an officer

A Rome man is accused of creating a fake Facebook account and representing himself as a Floyd County Police officer in order to harass a woman.

According to Floyd County Jail records, 28-year old Bradley Lamar Ray of an East 7th Street address told the victim he was a police officer and he wanted to meet her to talk about her ex-boyfriend killing himself.

He also allegedly drove past the victim’s home and violated the terms of a conditional bond by having contact with the woman.

Ray is charged with felony counts of impersonating a police officer and aggravated stalking as well as misdemeanor counts of stalking and explicit electronic transmissions.
