Three now charged in chase that began in Rome and ended in Alabama

Three people are now jailed in Cherokee County, Alabama following a police chase that began in Rome Wednesday morning.

According to Floyd County Police, the pursuit began in the area of Drummond Drive, and then went onto Wilkerson Road and over Mount Alto before hitting Hoseleg Creek Road, the West Rome Bypass and Blacks Bluff Road.

After going through the Fosters Mill area, the chase crossed the state-line into Alabama via Brushy Branch Road.

During the chase, the suspects were throwing contraband out of the windows, possibly including a firearm.

The suspect’s vehicle finally came to a stop in the Newberry’s Crossroads Community after striking the rear end of a Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office vehicle.

Reportedly the car had also struck another Sheriff’s Office vehicle at some point and two of the Floyd County law enforcement vehicles involved in the chase experienced damage.

38-year old John Thomas Duvall, 44-year old Bradley Keith Land, and 22-year old 22-year old Jessica Leigh Skuse, all of Rome, are charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Duvall was additionally charged with resisting arrest and obstructing justice (false ID).

Land is additionally charged with attempting to elude law enforcement.

The three are also expected face charges in Floyd County.
