WRGA, 99.5 The Jock bring home GABBY Awards

The Georgia Association of Broadcasters held its 2019 GABBY Awards Saturday in Atlanta.

The awards honor excellence in radio and television broadcasting in the state.

WRGA and David Crowder were awarded the “Best Newcast” GABBY in the AA category.

Meanwhile, Kevin Karel and 99.5 The Jock won the GABBY for “Best Sports Play By Play” for the Rome Braves broadcasts, also in class AA, which is comprised of radio stations that serve populations of under 50,000.

Formed in 1934, the Georgia Association of Broadcasters (GAB) is the trade association that represents the interests of Georgia’s over-the-air radio and television licensees who reach more than 95% of Georgia’s population every week.

The 57th annual GABBY Awards was emceed by former WSB-TV news anchor Monica Pearson.
