When City of Rome voters head to the polls this November 5 to choose candidates for Rome City Commission they will also be casting ballots in an alcohol referendum.

Monday night, the Rome City Commission approved placing the so-called “Brunch Bill” onto the ballot.

If approved by voters, businesses would be able to sell alcohol by the drink from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Sundays.

During the 2017-2018 session, the Georgia General Assembly passed Senate Bill 17 to allow for communities like Rome to change the hours during which alcohol may be served and purchased.
