Two people were transported to the hospital following a two-vehicle wreck on Highway 53 at Shannon Road at around 8:15 Wednesday morning.

According to Patrol Officer Chad Matthews, A Volkswagon Jetta was traveling north on 53 and a Kia Sedona was crossing the intersection and failed to yield.

The Jetta struck the mini-van on the driver’s side.

The extent of the injuries sustained in the wreck is not known, but both were conscious and alert when transported to the hospital.
