Woman accused of hitting disabled person

A Rome woman was arrested Sunday, accused of slapping and hitting a disabled person.

According to Floyd County Jail records, the victim sustained a substantial bruise and scratches.

41-year old Carla Kay Boney of a Butler Street address is charged with exploitation and intimidation of a disabled adult and battery.

She was also charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute.

The report states that Boney had clonazepam, which was located inside a plastic bag that had been melted closed.
