STAFF REPORTS

The Georgia Supreme Court has affirmed the conviction of Jamal Nevin Foreman, who is serving a sentence of life without the possibility of parole in the shooting death of Wreno Fain five years ago.

Fain was shot multiple times in the parking lot of Club Lexus on Main Street back in July of 2014.

Foreman filed a motion for a new trial, which was denied by the trial court.

He then appealed to the Georgia Supreme Court, contending that he was denied due process when the State suppressed exculpatory evidence.

Foreman also claimed he was denied effective assistance of counsel when his lawyer failed to adequately investigate and present evidence supporting an alternative theory of the crime.

The State Supreme Court found no reversible error and affirmed the conviction with all Justices concurring.
