NEWS RELEASE

Public Animal Welfare Services is pleased to announce their 1st annual Bow Wow Luau. This summer-themed event aims to introduce members of the community to P.A.W.S. and its mission as well as finding homes for all adoptable animals within the facility.

“We have accepted almost 2,000 animals since January 1st. We are always at full capacity and could use more adoptions. We hope this event will help connect us with the community and result in many more future adoptions” Said Jeffery Mitchell, Director, Public Animal Welfare Services.

The “Bow Wow Luau” will be held August 17th from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm at the P.A.W.S. facility (99 N. Ave. NE in Rome, Georgia).

Vendors will be present at the event to discuss animal health as well as selling food to luau-goers. There will also be games, activities and a best luau-wear contest for kids. P.A.W.S. staff will be inserting microchips for $10 at the event.

All adoption fees will be free. The first 10 adoptions of the day will receive a free microchip as well.

There will be a projected 100 animals available for adoption on the day of the event. The goal is to see every single animal in the facility adopted over the course of the day.
