A Rome man was killed in a two-vehicle wreck on Union Grove Road at Johnson Lake/Belwood Road near Calhoun Friday evening.

The Gordon Gazette reports that according to Gordon County Deputy Coroner Heath Derryberry, 20-year-old Jimmy Cruz Renoj, of Tiger Lane in Rome, was pronounced dead at AdventHealth Gordon.

Derryberry said it is believed that Renoj was a passenger in the car that failed to yield and exited the side road onto Union Grove Road.

There were others injured in the accident and they were transported to Floyd Medical in Rome.

We have calls into the Georgia State Patrol, who is investigating the crash, and we hope to have additional details as soon as they are released.
