Man arrested after firing gun

A Rome man is facing felony and misdemeanor charges after a shot was fired Monday on Flora Avenue.

According to Floyd County Jail records, 27-year old Charles Rashun Echols of a Roseway Circle address violated a temporary restraining order by visiting the home of the victim.

He also reportedly punched a witness in the presence of a one-year-old child and then fired one round from a gun.

Echols is charged with aggravated stalking, discharge of a firearm near a public street, reckless conduct, simple battery and 3rd-degree cruelty to children.
