A 25-year old Rome man was arrested Friday on charges of identity theft, financial transaction card theft, and financial transaction card fraud.

According to Floyd County Jail records, Jonathan Richard Duke Jr. of an Oakland Avenue address took the victim’s debit card from her daughter’s purse back on May 31 and then used it to obtain $200 in cash from an ATM on Shorter Avenue.

The arrest warrant states that photos were taken by the ATM’s camera system, showing Duke with a white, women’s shirt over his lower face.

However,  his eyes and upper facial area were exposed.

Duke was also charged with fleeing or attempting to elude, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug-related objects, and possession of a controlled substance.

The report states that Duke failed to stop his vehicle for Floyd County Police on Friday, driving for close to a mile before finally stopping.

K-9 Lex then alerted officers to the presence of drugs in the vehicle.

Suspected meth, Heroin and three glass smoking devices were recovered.
