Fireworks, parades highlight the 4th of July in Northwest Georgia

There are plenty of things to do today to celebrate America’s Birthday.

Calhoun and Gordon County’s 2019 Star Spangled Celebration will be held from 5 until 10 p.m. at the Cherokee Capital Fairgrounds on Highway 53.

There will be music, inflatable, games, and of course fireworks at dark, which will include a new laser light show.

The Rome Braves will have a fireworks show at State Mutual Stadium immediately following tonight’s game against the Ashville Tourists.

If you are in the Cartersville area, the annual 4th of July Parade will begin at 9 this morning at the Tabernacle Baptist Church and will wind its way through the downtown area.

Activities at Dellinger Park begin at 2 this afternoon and a fireworks display will start at around 9:30 tonight.

The Cave Spring 4th of July Parade gets underway this morning at 9.

Anyone can be in the parade.

All motorized vehicles and horses line up on Perry Farm Road at 8:30 a.m. while those who would like to walk will line up at the Old Depot on Alabama Street, also at 8:30.
