The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has announced that Joe Montgomery has been promoted to Special Agent in Charge of the Region 1 Calhoun Office.

Montgomery will be responsible for the supervision of the agents assigned to Region 1 office who conduct major investigations.

Those include death investigations, officer use of force investigations, crimes against children, and other felonies.

The Region 1 office covers Bartow, Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade, Floyd, Gordon, Haralson, Murray, Paulding, Polk, Walker, and Whitfield Counties.
