A Rome man facing 47 felony and misdemeanor charges following a high-speed pursuit on Tuesday is now in custody.
According to arrest warrants, 22-year old Anzrielle Antipartris Smith of a Williams Street address tried to strike four officers with his vehicle while eluding law enforcement on 2nd Avenue at Glenn Milner Boulevard.
A warrant states that Smith attempted to strike a Floyd County Sheriff’s Office patrol unit multiple times on Calhoun Road at Bells Ferry Road.
Smith also reportedly ran several red lights and stop signs, passed multiple vehicles on the wrong side of the road, and drove into oncoming traffic, all on tires that were almost bald.
He then struck a guard rail but continued to drive away as Georgia State Troopers were trying to block him in.
Smith also allegedly refused to stop and let a passenger out of the vehicle after the victim asked him to do so several times.
Smith then ditched the vehicle and fled on foot.
He remained at large until his arrest early Thursday at a location on Williamson Street.
Smith is charged with four counts of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, two counts of false imprisonment, obstruction of officers, fleeing or attempting to elude, aggressive driving, reckless driving, duty to report an accident, five counts of failure to obey traffic control devices, five stop sign violations, six counts of failure to maintain a lane, five counts of driving on the wrong side of the road, six counts of speeding, driving with a suspended or revoked license, two counts of improper passing, two counts of approach of a stationary emergency vehicle, too fast for conditions, two counts of vehicle entering the roadway, a single count of standards for brake lights and signal devices, a tire violation, and a seat belt violation.
