City commission to consider parking ordinance amendment

June 9, 2019–6:05 p.m.

STAFF REPORTS

Downtown parking is once again on the agenda for the Rome City Commission when they meet Monday night.

Commissioners will consider Second Reading of an ordinance amendment that would give downtown patrons an additional hour of free parking on Broad Street.

The amendment states that no vehicle or motorcycle shall be parked on-street for more than three hours, whether consecutive or otherwise, in the downtown parking zone between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

That’s up from a two-hour limit.

A public hearing will be held prior to the vote.

Monday’s city commission meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. at Rome City hall.
