Facebook Live video lands convicted felon behind bars

A convicted felon is back behind bars after allegedly posting a video online showing him with a firearm.

According to the arrest warrant, 32-year old Tommy Michael “White Mike” Thornton of a Selman Road address in Rome was seen on a Facebook Live video with a pistol on his right side inside his waistband while exiting a vehicle at a convenience store on Kingston Avenue on May 16.

Thornton has been a convicted felon since 2004.

Thornton is also accused of stating that he was going to meet with officers at the Rome-Floyd County Law Enforcement Center on May 29 and then not showing up.

He is charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, misdemeanor obstruction of officers and a probation violation.
