About Nelle

Nelle Reagan has been a Broadcaster since 1961 (started when she was 4).

She worked at the Rockmart station WPLK for 1 year and in 1961 earning the outstanding broadcasting award from Associated press, then chose to stay home with her 2 small children until they both were in middle school. Nelle and her family came to Rome in 1968 and started her career here in Rome with Charlie Doss at WROM AM and 97.7 FM. She has worked for Tom Lloyd at WLAQ and continued with Randy Davis after he purchased the station from Tom. During this time in radio, Nelle also worked for the Rome Floyd County Recreation authority for 10 years plus radio teaching ceramics and art. After leaving WLAQ, Nelle worked for Coosa Valley Mental health for 4 years as the Public affairs director, until budget was cut and being the last one hired had some spare time on her hands.

Randy Quick heard about Nelle’s availability and called to see if she might do a talk show… So it was resurrected … Talk of The Town, Ben Lucas’s early radio show. Nelle supports many causes and celebrated 21 years as chairperson for the Bob Richards RYDC. She serves on the advisory board for the Georgia Radio Hall Of Fame, and was inducted into the Georgia Radio Hall of Fame in 2012. Nelle is currently a board Member of Commission on Children and youth. She is a board member of Blood Assurance and a member of Floyd Against Drugs. Nelle also does a public affairs program called “Around and About” that airs on 5 STATIONS in the Rome radio partners family. She loves to sing and do solos in her church Park View Baptist. Nelle is celebrating 47 years in radio and she enjoys people along with striving to help her community in any way possible. Nelle Loves WRGA and her superiors that are just the best, Randy Quick and Howard Toole, Owners of Rome Radio Partners LLC. She states “She is truly blessed to have the best of both worlds” God, Family, and Community.
