The Floyd County Board of Education will hold a called meeting Tuesday morning to approve the budget.
The meeting will begin at 8:00 am.
The General Fund Budget is just over $112,000,000 and it projects revenues ahead of expenditures.
It also includes a permanent 2% raise for employees, the first since 2008, according to Superintendent Dr. John Jackson.
“The state only funded raises for teachers or certificated employees, but the board is going to extend that to all employees,” Dr. Jackson said. “I think that just says that we value all our employees and that the board is willing to put forth the resources because they realize that we are a people organization. We’re about relationships and supporting people. You have to pay people well if you want to keep them.”
The board is looking at a millage rate rollback, but will not set the tax rate until next month.
There will be a couple other items on the agenda for the board will approve.
They will also go into Executive Session to discuss personnel.
