Rome police say that two officers helped a teen who didn't have any food in his house.

According to the department's Facebook page, Lt. John Walters and Officer Eric Brunson caught a 14-year-old shoplifting candy from a local business. The teen gave the candy back.

When the officers took the teenager home, they learned the teen had no food in his house. The officers purchased more than $50 in groceries for the teen.
