Shooting suspect in custody

A man being sought in connection with a shooting back on February 20 is now in custody.
Warrants were issued for 34-year old Patrick Cortez Turner after he allegedly shot 25-year old Charmian Perkins in the foot in the parking lot of the Exxon gas station on Shorter Avenue.
Police said the two men were involved in a brief altercation.
Perkins sustained scarring to his foot as a result of the wound, according to the warrant.
Turner was booked into the Floyd County Jail late Tuesday.
He is charged with aggravated assault, aggravated battery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, failure to appear in court and a probation violation.
