More indictments handed down in Floyd County
Wednesday, December 5, 2018- 8:09 a.m. 
The grand jury has returned indictments for 33-year old Clifford Whatley for Aggravated Battery. 
In previous reports, Whatley is accused of attacking his girlfriend and nearly severing her arm with a machete at the Riverwood Apartment complex on W 13th Street back on August 22.
Whatley was held in a Texas county jail and has been extradited back to Floyd County to face the local charge.
Also, another Rome man was also handed indictments for a stabbing incident back in September. 
According recent indictments Brinnon D. Bannister has been indicted for Aggravated Assault. 
Previous reports state that Bannister stabbed the victim in the stomach, causing a laceration.
Banister had been charged with aggravated assault, battery, aggravated battery, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, possession of a knife during the commission of a crime, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and possession of drug-related objects.
