Man arrested on multiple charges

A 52-year old Rome man is facing multiple charges following his arrest Saturday.
According to Floyd County Jail records, Jerry Kevin Evans of a Big Indian Trail address is charged with aggravated assault, aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer, terroristic threats and acts, battery, criminal trespass, fleeing or attempting to elude police, passing in a no passing zone, and DUI.
Evans was arrested at a location on Calhoun Road.
No additional details concerning the arrest were available at the jail on Sunday.
Two charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor

A Calhoun man is facing charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor after allegedly encouraged a child to participate in a shoplifting incident at the East Rome Walmart Saturday.
According to Floyd County Jail records, 46-year old Jackie Levon Smith concealed and transferred merchandise from one container to another and then left the store.
A 10-year old was with him, and Smith reportedly encouraged the child to help.
27-year old Sanica Robinson of an East 12th Street address in Rome was also arrested on charges of shoplifting and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
