Man charged with making threats

A 43-year old Rome man was jailed Saturday on charges of terroristic threats and acts.

According to Floyd County Jail records, Bryan O’Neal Chastain pushed a man and threatened to kill him.

The incident occurred at Chastain’s home on Lynn Drive, according to the report.

Chastain is also charged with battery.

 

Man arrested for theft by taking a motor vehicle

A Rome man is facing charges of theft by taking a motor vehicle following his arrest Saturday.

According to Floyd County Jail records, 23-year old Luis Alberto Chacon, of an East Hermitage Road address, took a woman’s vehicle without permission.

He was found in possession of the vehicle at the Royal Inn in Rome, according to the report.


 

Convicted felon arrested for possessing a firearm

A 21-year old Rome man was arrested Friday on a felony count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

According to the arrest warrant, Antonio Demoel Creamer, of a Frost Drive address, admitted to police that he traded a stolen 9mm for an iPhone back on January 24.

Creamer is also charged with a probation violation.

 

Man arrested for reckless conduct, drug possession

A 38-year old Rome man was arrested Saturday after he allegedly setting trash and boxes on fire next to a gas station at 507 Turner McCall Boulevard.

According to Floyd County Jail records, Michael Dwayne Green, of a Tumlin Drive address, also yelled, cursed and threw beer cans at the convenience store window.

He was also found in possession of methamphetamine and a glass smoking device.

Once at the jail, Green pulled three white pills, suspected to be Olanzapine, out of his pocket and handed them to the officer.

Green is charged with reckless conduct, disorderly conduct, possession of meth, possession of dangerous drugs, possession of drug-related objects, and crossing the guard line at the jail with drugs.

 

Report: Man had drugs at the jail

An Armuchee man was charged with crossing the guard line at the Floyd County Jail with drugs over the weekend.

According to jail records, 27-year old Jimmy Lee Brown III, of an Old Summerville Road address, had a baggy of suspected marijuana.

He was also charged with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

 

Two accused of running from police

FLOYD COUNTY JAIL RECORDS

Two people were arrested Friday after allegedly running from police on Martha Berry Boulevard near West 9th Street.

According to Floyd County Jail records, 27-year old Christopher Lloyd Rhoten, of a Drummond Drive address, fled on foot following a traffic stop due to felony warrants.

He ran behind a parked vehicle, dropping suspected methamphetamine before giving up.

37-year old Nikia Leigh Dewitte, of a Dodd Boulevard address, also ran, according to the report.

She was found with meth in her purse.

Rhoten and Dewitte are both charged with obstruction, giving a false name or date of birth, and possession of meth.

Rhoten was also arrested for a probation violation.

Dewitte is additionally charged with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, driving on a suspended or revoked license, failure to maintain a lane, and possession of a controlled substance.

 

Man arrested following traffic stop

A traffic stop on Dean Avenue results in the arrest of a Rome man early Sunday morning.

According to Floyd County Jail records, Steve Ray Montgomery, of a Buck Trail address, was arrested after controlled substances and marijuana were found in the vehicle.

He is charged with possession of Schedule II and IV controlled substances, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, possession of drugs not in the original container, expired tag, and driving without insurance.

 

Synthetic marijuana land a Rome man behind bars

A 37-year old Rome man was arrested following a traffic stop at East 6th Street near East 2nd Avenue Saturday.

According to Floyd County Jail records, Adam Bartley Carr, of a Juniper Drive address, was stopped for suspicion of DUI and police found a partially smoked blunt and a bag of synthetic marijuana.

He is charged with DUI and possession of synthetic marijuana.
