A pick-up truck overshoots a turn at Burnett Ferry Road and Radio Springs Road Tuesday afternoon, leaving the roadway and running through a fence before landing on top of a high-pressure gas substation.
According to the Rome Fire Department Battalion Chief Gene Proctor, the truck caught fire as well as the gas substation shooting flames 50 feet into the air.
Atlanta Gas Light was called in to manage the damage. The road was closed for around three hours.
The driver of the truck was transported to Floyd Medical Center with minor injuries.
