A Rome man is arrested after he allegedly hid a gun to protect a woman

A Rome man is arrested on felony charges after he allegedly hid a gun that one woman used to threaten another.

According to Floyd County Jail reports, 36-year Lamario Andrus Majors, of a Holly St address was arrested on a Monday and charged with tampering with evidence.

He is accused of tampering with a gun Jessica Noel Jackson used to threaten Wanda Jean Chambers when the two were fighting on Sept. 30 at a Dodd Boulevard address.

Chambers reportedly had a hammer and both women were charged with aggravated assault.

Majors took the pistol from the scene to prevent Jackson from being arrested according to the police report. He is also charged with of obstruction.

He remains in jail on a $3,500 bond.
