Man pleads guilty to conspiracy, gang activity

A man charged in connection with a robbery and murder in North Rome in 2015 has pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy to commit a robbery and participation in criminal street gang activity.
21-year old Javarick Davon McCain entered the plea Thursday in Floyd Superior Court.
Judge Tami Colston then followed the recommendation from the prosecution and sentenced McCain to 15-years to serve 8.
22-year-old Detavioius Jamalcom Milner was shot and killed during a robbery at a home on Copeland Street back on April 7, 2015.
The state says McCain drove two other suspects the area and then picked them up, but never went into the house where the shooting occurred.
McCain who is purportedly a member of “The Bloods” was also present when plans for the robbery were being discussed.
He was taken into custody in September of 2016 on I-75, as he was headed to Tennessee.
Zjuantavious Marquis Jackson was recently sentenced to life without parole for murder.
During Jackson's trial, he was named the triggerman by a third co-defendant, Joseph Hamilton Jackson, who has yet to stand trial.
