A bicyclist was transported to the hospital by Floyd EMS Monday morning after being struck by a vehicle on Shorter Avenue.

According to Rome Police, the vehicle was pulling out of Hamilton Avenue onto Shorter when it struck the bicycle and kept going.

The man on the bicycle was conscious when transported to the hospital but the extent of his injuries is not known.

The incident occurred at around 10:30 a.m.
