The Cherokee County, Alabama Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting incident that occurred Monday night.

According to initial reports, a man was shot in the back of the head during some sort of altercation on County Road 22.

Family members drove the man to a location on Foster’s Mill Road in Floyd County where they were met by Floyd EMS.

The man was then transported to Floyd Medical Center.

At last report, he was in stable condition and was alert and talking.
