Woman charged with exploitation of the elderly

A 48-year old Woodstock woman accused of stealing money from an elderly woman was booked into the Floyd County Jail Tuesday.

According to Floyd County Jail records, Erika Crawford Gordon took the money from the 74-year old victim’s account for her own personal gain.

Gordon was the fiduciary for the victim at the time of the alleged theft, according to the report.

She was also the primary caregiver for the victim, before moving to Woodstock and leaving the victim alone.

In addition, police say Gordon has been showing up at the victim’s residence, yelling and banging on the door.

Gordon is charged with felony and misdemeanor counts of exploitation of the elderly, felony theft by taking, and neglect of an elder person.
